FEMA NFIP Risk Rating 2.0 Projected Insurance Premium Changes by State
It shouldn't be any surprise about your flood insurance rates are going to change. Phase I was announced last year and the memo went out after to your state Office of Emergency Preparedness that would have sent it to your parish or city permitting office. Now if that's not how it worked, then call your state representative, congressional representative and your permit office.
FEMA announced Phase I Flood Insurance Risk Rating 2.0 would start beginning Oct. 1, 2021. All new policies were subject to the new rating methodology. Also beginning Oct. 1, existing policyholders eligible for renewal were able to begin taking advantage of immediate decreases in their premiums.
FEMA announced Phase II Flood Insurance Risk Rating 2.0 would impact all remaining policies renewing on or after April 1, 2022. All policies after April 1, 2022 are subject to the new rating methodology.
