FEMA IHP Notice of Maximum Amount of Assistance Under the Individuals and Households Disaster Program

FEMA has increased the amount of grant funding for all declared disasters after October 1, 2021 to $37,900 for housing assistance and $37,900 for other needs assistance. It is your responsibility to push for the maximum amounts and use the grant wisely.

Notice of Maximum Amount of Assistance Under the FEMA Individuals and Households Program October 2022

FEMA increased the maximum amount for Individual and Household Assistance after an emergency or major disaster by 8.3 percent making the total amount for either housing assistance 41,000 and 41,000 for other needs assistance.

Renters Can Apply for FEMA Assistance

Renters, your FEMA assistance is called Individual Assistance or IA. FEMA can and should offer you grants to replace some of the items you have lost. This is not a substitute for renters insurance and this is not going to make you whole again.
